Join the CPES New Energy Professionals (NEPs) for a behind-the-scenes tour of the Charter Oak CHP Fuel Cell Project in Bridgeport on Thursday, September 24!
Originally developed by NuPower and now owned and operated by Scale Microgrids, the project features 21 HyAxiom fuel cells which generate electricity for United Illuminating and repurpose recovered heat to power the district thermal loop. The thermal loop will supply heat and hot water for academic and commercial buildings in downtown Bridgeport, including the University of Bridgeport campus. This innovative combined heat and power (CHP) system demonstrates how distributed energy resources can improve efficiency, enhance resilience, and support Connecticut's clean energy future.
